Made for you. Under fair conditions.

October 23, 2020 – We offer products that are not only environmentally friendly but also manufactured under fair conditions. To ensure this, we rely on partnerships and long-term collaborations with the producers in our supply chain. The people who manufacture our products should have good working conditions and be paid fairly – no matter where they live on the planet.

Production location?

Do you want to know exactly where your product was manufactured? For all of our current winter products, we are making our supply chain transparent and can now show you where each product comes from and what factory it was produced in. Just click on the "Made where?" link on the product page online and you’ll find current information about the production location.

External audit that you can rely on.

Fair Wear Leader

We have about 50 different production partners worldwide. About 20% of them are located in Germany and Europe; about 80% are in Asia. Our producers are regularly audited by the independent organization Fair Wear. This means that they have made a commitment to adhering to clearly defined social standards and paying fair wages. We as their client are also regularly audited. In the annual Brand Performance Check conducted by Fair Wear, we have been awarded the highest possible status of "Leader" for our outstanding commitment every year since 2015.

Production in Asia?

We are often asked why we don’t manufacture all of our products right here in Germany or in Europe and why a large part of our apparel collection comes from Asia. The answer is as complex as it is simple.
The fact is that almost the entire textile processing industry for outdoor, functional clothing – including the upstream supply chain – is located in Asia where some countries specialized in the field decades ago. This means that we can only produce some of our products in Germany or Europe – and we do this as much as possible. For the majority of our products, however, there aren’t many production sites in Europe. And for those that do exist, the additional costs – especially for functional clothing – are almost twice as high due to the high degree of manual labor. Why? Because the cost of living and therefore the wages of both continents differ enormously. Production in Europe would mean much higher prices for you as a customer. Our products would then no longer be competitive and/or would no longer be purchased.

Our main focus is primarily on the question of how can we manufacture your product as environmentally friendly and fairly as possible. No matter whether that’s in Germany, in Europe or in Asia. After all, globalization involves taking responsibility worldwide!
